About this stay

Your Jerusalem Stay

First Impressions

Walking up to JTower – Magical Apartments In City Center on Jaffa Street, you’ll notice it doesn’t scream “tourist trap” — which is honestly refreshing in this part of Jerusalem. The building has that solid, no-nonsense feel that locals appreciate, and you’re right in the thick of things without the inflated prices of some fancier places. This three-star property gets the basics right, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re more interested in exploring the city than lounging around your room.

The Jaffa Street Advantage

Here’s what I love about this location — you’re literally on one of Jerusalem’s main arteries, which means the light rail stops practically at your doorstep. I mean, you can hop on and be at the Western Wall in about ten minutes, or head the other direction toward the newer parts of the city. The street itself is this fascinating mix of old and new Jerusalem, with traditional shops sitting next to modern cafes. You know what’s great? You can grab fresh bread from the bakery downstairs in the morning, then walk five minutes to Mahane Yehuda Market for the full sensory overload experience.

The Apartment Setup

The apartment style really works here — you get more space than a typical hotel room, plus having a kitchen means you can actually save some money on meals (Jerusalem isn’t exactly budget-friendly when it comes to dining out). The apartments are clean and functional, though don’t expect Instagram-worthy interiors. What you will find is everything you actually need: decent Wi-Fi, hot water that works consistently, and windows that open to let in some fresh air. The furnishings are a bit dated, but honestly, when you’re spending your days wandering through 3,000 years of history, who cares if your sofa is from 2010?

Getting Around and Neighborhood Feel

The couples who stay here seem to really get it — this isn’t about fancy amenities, it’s about being plugged into real Jerusalem life. You’re close enough to walk to both the Old City and the German Colony, but you’re also in a neighborhood where actual Jerusalemites live and work. There’s decent parking nearby if you’re brave enough to drive in this city (though I’d stick with the light rail, personally). The area gets busy during the day but settles down nicely in the evenings, so you get that urban energy without the all-night noise.

Why Guests Love It

Look, JTower isn’t trying to be something it’s not, and that’s actually its strength. You’re getting solid value in a city where accommodation costs can make your eyes water. The staff knows the area well and can point you toward the good hummus places that tourists usually miss. Plus, there’s something satisfying about staying somewhere that feels more like a temporary home than a sterile hotel. If you’re the type who’d rather spend your money on experiences than thread counts, and you want to feel like you’re actually staying in Jerusalem rather than just visiting it, this place makes a lot of sense.

To book a hotel in Jerusalem during festival season, visitors plan ahead to balance Old City pilgrimages with gallery strolls along the First Station.

Absolutely perfect location—right in the heart of central Jerusalem and close to everything. The view is incredible, and the property itself is spotless and well-maintained. The property manager went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I especially recommend this place for observant Jews, as it’s fully equipped with all the necessary Shabbat accommodations. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

Location was amazing

What could be improved: The fact that the window didn’t close and the cupboard door was broken

The apartment's layout is satisfactory. It’s centrally located near the Shuk, train, bus stops, and restaurants.

What could be improved: The building’s entrance was dusty, and the sidewalk was unfinished due to ongoing construction next door, creating an unappealing first impression. Inside the apartment, the couches were stained and emitted a strong bodily odor, making the living space unpleasant. While the bathroom was generally clean, the toilet had a noticeable brownish-yellowish stain ring around the bowl. I purchased a Clorox spray to resolve this, which should not have been my responsibility.
Most significantly, the air conditioning unit broke down two days into my stay. Despite my repeated requests for repairs and assurances that a maintenance person would be sent, the issue was not addressed until the final day of my stay. Even then, a maintenance worker entered the apartment without my knowledge or consent, which I found highly unprofessional and unsettling.
The lack of functional air conditioning made my stay unpleasant, especially during warm temperatures. I extended my trip for an additional week, but left this property a day early, moving to alternative accommodation with superior amenities, including reliable air conditioning, at a lower cost than this property’s rates.
Due to the strong bodily odors and unreliable air conditioning, I would not recommend this apartment to anyone susceptible to odors or requiring consistent AC, particularly in warm weather.

Excellent location. Good size rooms. Very comfortable.

What could be improved: The facilities in the apartment were very sparse. For example - only bath towels, no hand towels. Two glasses for a 4 person apartment. No drying rack for clothes. No dustbin in the bathroom. The clothes dryer wasn’t working and took 3 days to fix it after having to continually nag.

The place was nice. Very clean and organized. Loved the view!!

What could be improved: I was having problems with finding the parking lot. When I tried calling the number for help, they couldn’t help me either so that was a bummer.

The Location was excellent

What could be improved: The host Jacob was terrible. We selected this apartment partially because the web site indicated that parking was included. In fact, I know someone who rented in the building thru Booking.com, and car parking was included. however, Jacob kept avoiding my question regarding parking details, and then the day before our trip he e-mailed that Parking was not included; the website was not accurate! I called him directly from NY and after much argueing, he said he'd get us a space. - the details of which he did not let me know until I was literally boarding my flight to Israel - "It's parking space #45". When we got to Israel - Parking space #45 was occupied. and he did not take my phone call to discuss what to do. Additionally - he e-mailed the code to enter the building as well as the code to enter the appartment - BOTH OF WHICH WERE WRONG CODES!! and he did not take my phone call to discuss what to do!!! Finally, the concierge was able to contact Jacob and get these 3 items resolved. Jacob did not e-mail me instructions on how to operate the air conditioning until 6 hours AFTER I arrived. Throughout the stay, I e-mailed him multiple times that the smoke alarm/ carbon monoxide detector had been removed from the apartment - he said he'd have the maintainance staff check this - we were thse for 2 weeks, no detector was installed. He did say that if I wanted, I could buy my own detector!
