Saladin Boutique Hotel
Your Jerusalem Stay
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow stone streets of Jerusalem’s Old City to reach Saladin Boutique Hotel honestly feels like stepping back in time — and then you arrive at this beautifully restored building that somehow manages to blend seamlessly with the ancient surroundings. The entrance might catch you off guard (in the best way) because from the outside, you’d never guess what’s waiting inside. This four-star property sits right in the heart of the Muslim Quarter, and I mean right in the thick of things — you’re literally surrounded by centuries of history the moment you step out the door.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s incredible about staying here? You’re about a three-minute walk from the Dome of the Rock and maybe five minutes from the Western Wall. I’ve stayed in Jerusalem before, and most hotels require you to take buses or taxis to reach the major sites — but from Saladin, you just walk out and you’re there. The Muslim Quarter itself is fascinating to explore, especially early in the morning when the shopkeepers are setting up and the tour groups haven’t arrived yet. Couples absolutely love this location (they rate it 9.6 apparently), and honestly, I can see why — there’s something romantic about wandering these ancient streets together, especially in the evening when everything’s lit up.
The Room Experience
The rooms here strike this perfect balance between modern comfort and respecting the building’s character. My room had these gorgeous stone walls — actual ancient stone, not some fake reproduction — but the bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was completely updated. The air conditioning works well (crucial during Jerusalem summers), and the Wi-Fi is solid throughout the property. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, despite being in such a central location. The windows are well-insulated, so you get the authentic Old City experience during the day but can actually sleep peacefully.
Dining & Amenities
The breakfast situation is quite good — they serve it in this lovely courtyard area that feels like a hidden oasis. It’s not a huge buffet spread, but everything they do offer is fresh and well-prepared, with a nice mix of Middle Eastern and international options. The staff really knows their stuff about the local area too, which makes a huge difference when you’re trying to navigate the Old City. There’s no restaurant for dinner, but honestly, you’re surrounded by incredible local eateries — the hotel staff will point you toward some real gems that most tourists never find.
Why Guests Love It
What sets this place apart is how it manages to put you right in the center of one of the world’s most historically significant locations without sacrificing comfort or service. The building itself has character — you can feel the history in the walls — but they’ve modernized everything that actually matters for your stay. The location rating of 9.6 isn’t just a number; it reflects how rare it is to find quality accommodation this close to Jerusalem’s most important sites. You’ll save hours of travel time and experience the Old City in a way that’s simply impossible when staying in the modern parts of the city.

Guest Reviews
We loved everything about this hotel. The staff was very friendly, the location was perfect, right on Via Dolorosa, close to everything. We liked staying in the muslin quarter. Right next to the hotel there is a restaurant with good foods and next to the Damascus gate we found the best coffee in the world. We would definitely come back here.
Saladin Boutique Hotel is right where you want to be: Via Dolorosa is right in front of your door as well as all major sites in old Jerusalem. Just start walking in any direction you like and you‘ll always find something interesting.
Everyone in the the hotel was super nice and helpful and made you feel welcome from the very beginning. No other place could be better than Saladin Boutique Hotel in old Jerusalem.
If you happen to have a room with a balcony it’s even better. Then you can watch the lively street below you. We highly recommend this place.
We specially liked to go to the roof to enjoy the view of the Dom of the Rock at various times of the day.
What could be improved: Sadly there was no breakfast.
As soon as you enter you can tell this is a boutique hotel and a lot of care has been given to beauty, aesthetics and practicality.
The front desk staff are very helpful.
There shops all around and the entrance to Aqsa Compound is 3-5 minutes walk.
The location is excellent. A modern boutique style hotel in the middle of the walled city and 5 minutes walk to Aqsa Complex.
The Saladin Boutique Hotel is small but perfectly formed! The rooms are fully equipped with everything you need and a real sense of luxury.
The hotel was chosen for its close proximity to Al Aqsa (5 mins away from Nasir Gate) and 10-15 mins away from Damascus gate. You are literally in the heart of the Old city surrounded by history and beauty. There’s some delicious food places nearby not to mention the fresh juice stand next door!
We felt extremely safe as we always do in Jerusalem and the staff were so friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we need. This is our second stay in Jerusalem and we are already planning our next visit.
Theres a lovely lounge area on the 1st floor to sit and relax in or be sure to grab a coffee and falafel sandwich and head up the to the top floor and enjoy the views of Jerusalem! I cannot recommend this hotel enough!
Directions: enter via Damascus gate and take the left alley when you come to the crossroad in the alleyways.
Great location very convenient to everything and welcoming staff
The host was so kind and helpful. We felt instantly at home!
Very close to Masjid Al Aqsa
What could be improved: Very small room, but it's old city Jerusalem so expect small rooms. Very costly paid a huge amount for a day in Ramadan
Excellent thanks
Perfect location, quality of room and staff are top!
What could be improved: Everything is amazing
