The Blue House
Your Jerusalem Stay
First Impressions
Walking up to The Blue House on Nisim Bachar Street, you immediately get that feeling you’ve stumbled onto something special. It’s not flashy or trying too hard β just this charming three-star property that somehow feels perfectly at home in one of Jerusalem’s most coveted neighborhoods. The building itself has character, and honestly, the moment you step inside, you can tell this place gets what travelers actually want from a Jerusalem stay.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about location in Jerusalem β it’s everything, and The Blue House absolutely nails it. You’re genuinely in the heart of the city, which means you can walk to pretty much anywhere that matters. The Western Wall, the Old City markets, even those little cafes tucked away in alleyways that only locals seem to know about β they’re all within easy reach. I mean, couples consistently rate this location 8.9 out of 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why. You’re not stuck in some tourist bubble; you’re actually living in Jerusalem for a few days.
The Rooms & Comfort
The accommodations strike that sweet spot between comfortable and authentic. You won’t find over-the-top amenities here, but what you will get is a clean, well-thought-out space that feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a generic hotel room. The rooms have enough character to remind you where you are, but they’re modern enough that you’re not dealing with any of those old-building quirks that can make a stay frustrating. Everything works the way it should, which β let’s be honest β is sometimes the best compliment you can give a place.
The Jerusalem Experience
What really sets this place apart is how it connects you to the city itself. You’re not isolated in some hotel district; you’re dropped right into the rhythm of Jerusalem life. Morning walks become little adventures, and you’ll find yourself discovering neighborhood spots that aren’t in any guidebook. The staff actually knows the area well enough to point you toward things you might miss otherwise β those hole-in-the-wall restaurants or the best times to visit certain sites when they’re not completely packed with tour groups.
Why Guests Love It
The Blue House works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. It’s a solid, well-located base that lets Jerusalem be the star of the show. You get excellent value for what you’re paying, especially considering that location score of 9.2 β which, in a city like Jerusalem, is pretty remarkable. Whether you’re here for the history, the culture, or just to wander around one of the world’s most fascinating cities, this place puts you exactly where you need to be without breaking the bank or overwhelming you with unnecessary frills.
To book a hotel in Jerusalem during festival season, visitors plan ahead to balance Old City pilgrimages with gallery strolls along the First Station.

Guest Reviews
Great service, nice place. The host helped us in everything we asked for.
Exceptional location, just a minute walk from the Mahne market and very close to central bus and train stations.
What could be improved: The room could be maintained a bit better
very good location, close to downtown, restaurants, the metro rail and a helpful and considerate host.
What could be improved: the photo shown of the property doesnβt look the same place.
good location. pretty clean but could do better. easy checkin
What could be improved: the futons are really uncomfortable
the apartment may need a restoration
The service is fabulous. Quick and kind response for every question that we had. The room was very clean.
What could be improved: The street is noisy at night. People are shouting, and also there is a near synagogue that worked until 1am π΅βπ«. Unfortunately, I had to hear everything.
very clean when we arrived. location is excellent. washing machine available.
What could be improved: security was a concern as the front gate of the property could be accessed by anyone. rooms were locked though.
very nice apartment with a lot of space. the owner is very gentle, helped us with the luggage and everything
What could be improved: not too central, there is no staff/services (online available via chat), the payment might be hard to do by card.
convenient location
What could be improved: a little cramped
Incredible location, great kitchen and bathroom with a washing machine even. Appliances for Sabbath observant. Easy access abut 2 blocks from entrance to Mahane Yehuda market. Didn't hear any of the neighbors.
What could be improved: Unfortunately there was some initial confusion over the check in communications. It was rectified. Only negative was a musty smell that was present. Not a horrible one, but one you notice upon entering.
clean, comfy place
What could be improved: check in on Saturdays only at 21.30 because of Sabbat! be aware: avoid check in on Saturdays
