YMCA Three Arches Hotel
Your Jerusalem Stay
First Impressions
Walking up to YMCA Three Arches Hotel on King David Street, you immediately get that “this is the real Jerusalem” feeling. The building itself has this solid, historic presence that fits perfectly with the neighborhood’s character — none of that generic hotel chain vibe you see everywhere else. It’s a three-star property, which honestly works in its favor because the focus is clearly on location and genuine hospitality rather than flashy amenities you probably won’t use anyway.
The Location Magic
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally in the heart of everything that matters in Jerusalem. King David Street puts you within walking distance of the Old City, and I mean actually walkable, not that “15-minute walk” that turns into 30. The Mamilla Mall is right there when you need modern conveniences, but step the other direction and you’re heading toward Jaffa Gate. Couples seem to get this immediately (they rate the location 9.5, which makes total sense), because there’s something romantic about being able to stroll to the Western Wall for sunrise and then grab coffee at a sidewalk café on your way back.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was clean and functional — think comfortable rather than fancy. The beds are actually good quality, which matters more than you’d think after long days exploring the city. What struck me was how quiet it stays despite being on such a central street. The windows do their job, and honestly, you’ll probably be out most of the day anyway. The bathrooms are updated enough that you won’t feel like you’re roughing it, but this isn’t the place for a long soak in a marble tub.
Practical Perks
One thing that saves you real money and hassle — they have free parking right at the hotel. If you’ve ever tried to park in central Jerusalem, you know this is basically gold. Most places either don’t have parking or charge you an arm and a leg for it. The staff actually knows the neighborhood well too, so when you ask for directions or recommendations, you get useful answers instead of just pointing at a tourist map.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t about thread counts or marble lobbies — it’s about waking up in the middle of Jerusalem’s most interesting neighborhood without paying Old City hotel prices. The 8.3 rating reflects exactly what you’d hope: solid, reliable, well-located accommodation that doesn’t try to be something it’s not. You’re paying for the location and the peace of mind that comes with staying somewhere that’s been hosting travelers for years. When you can walk to the Kotel, the Christian Quarter, and the Armenian Quarter all before lunch, then come back to a comfortable room with free parking, that’s honestly all most people need.
Jerusalem hotels keep pilgrims close to sacred quarters, contemporary museums, and fragrant olive groves in the Valley of Hinnom.

Guest Reviews
Unique and loaded with history and located inside an historic site
What could be improved: Love the simplicity , felt like 30 years back and still good enough:-)
Excellent location quick walk to Old City.. nice area..close to park. Pleasant staff , very much left alone unless wanting help. Room nothing outstanding but spotlessly clean and comfortable.
Breakfast buffet not as extensive as some but all delicious and varied each day. Lovely veranda for breakfast. Sports centre underneath fantastic, wonderful pool with sauna and jacuzzi.
What could be improved: For the price..nothing really.
Very convenient to walk to the old city. We also walked to the Israel museum from here. Good view of jerusalem including the Temple Mt from the top of the tower. Lovely architecture of the hotel.
What could be improved: The room was small. The restaurant was only open for breakfast. No where to get a cup of coffee even
The building is breathtaking.
What could be improved: I still wonder if there is no way to enlarge the elevator or add another one
Location and staff were excellent
Comfortable bed
Linked health club very convenient too
Beautiful complex with a lot of history. Parking available also includes gym and pool. Staff spoke excellent English and very helpful.
The hotel itself is beautiful and is in a very central position in Jerusalem. Perfect location for shopping centre and touring the old city. We elected not to have breakfast in the hotel so can't comment on that. The room was not large but was perfectly adequate and the shower was really good.
What could be improved: I would have preferred a more comfortable lobby - some place to the side where we could sit quietly. But this is a minor dislike.
Francis Raad at the reception was fantastic with a dry, self-deprecating sense of humour which I loved. Room was extremely nice and clean and comfortable. Breakfast was decent. Hotel had a pool with sauna and jacuzzi (no steam room though). Hotel grounds were very nice and 'staffed' by many stray cats.
What could be improved: TV unfortunately didn't work for most of my stay (all but the first day) - was a hotel wide issue not simply my room.
Very good location and kind staff. Special hotel with histoty.
The guy Francis in the check in was very nice and welcoming
