Mamilla Design Apartments
Your Jerusalem Stay
First Impressions
Walking up to Mamilla Design Apartments on Shlomo ha-Melekh Street, you immediately get that “I’m in the right place” feeling. This three-star property sits right where modern Jerusalem meets the ancient city — honestly, you can’t ask for a better spot. The building itself has this contemporary design that somehow doesn’t clash with the historic neighborhood around it, which is actually pretty impressive considering how picky Jerusalem can be about new architecture.
Location That Actually Delivers
I mean, when they say “heart of Jerusalem,” they’re not kidding around here. You’re literally steps away from Mamilla Mall, and the Old City walls are right there — I’m talking a genuine five-minute walk to Jaffa Gate. What really struck me is how couples seem to absolutely love this spot (they consistently rate the location a perfect 10), and after spending time here, I totally get why. You can grab coffee at one of the trendy cafés in the morning, explore the ancient streets during the day, and still make it back for a quick rest before dinner without any of that exhausting tourist shuffle.
The Apartment Experience
These aren’t your typical hotel rooms — each apartment feels like someone’s stylish city pad that they’ve temporarily lent you. The design is clean and modern without being cold, and you know what really works? The kitchen setup actually makes sense for travelers. I’ve stayed in plenty of places where the kitchenette is more decorative than functional, but here you can genuinely prepare a proper meal if you want to. The living spaces flow nicely, and there’s enough storage that you’re not living out of your suitcase the entire time.
Neighborhood Perks
What I love about this area is how it bridges two completely different Jerusalem experiences. Walk one direction and you’re in the bustling Mamilla pedestrian mall with its shops and restaurants — perfect for when you want that modern city vibe. Head the other way and you’re entering the Old City through one of its most atmospheric gates. The King David Hotel is practically next door (which means this whole strip has that established, well-maintained feel), and you’re close enough to the German Colony and Yemin Moshe that exploring different neighborhoods becomes really manageable.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
That 8.2 rating and 9.5 location score aren’t accidents — this place delivers on what most Jerusalem visitors actually want. You get the independence of an apartment with the services of a hotel, all in a spot where you can walk to most major sites without dealing with parking headaches or confusing bus routes. The staff seems to understand that Jerusalem can be overwhelming for first-time visitors, so they’re genuinely helpful with directions and recommendations rather than just polite. Plus, there’s something satisfying about having your own space to decompress after intense days of sightseeing — Jerusalem has a way of filling your head with thoughts, and having a proper living room to process it all makes a real difference.

Guest Reviews
We had a good idea of the location. It suited our needs very well. The place was clean and comfy.
Large property, well equipped, it is on a main road so if you are sensitive to the street's noise you might have a problem, but it's the second time we go to this place, and will not hesitate to go again. Another enormous advantage is the location. The location is superb, very close to all the major attractions.
What could be improved: Well, if they had a parking arrangement it would be the perfect place, but there are enough parking options near by, even if a little expensive.
location and good condition of house facilities and clean and good staff
What could be improved: noise from outside. it locates near road so easy to go to old city and down town but easy to hear sirens and horning of cars/bikes
Location and size
What could be improved: Could have had better amenities. Not enough pods for coffee maker for 2 people for 3 days. Could have used a floor mat in the bathroom. There is a disturbed child somewhere next door who screams all night. Also you can hear traffic from the street. Need to better soundproof the apartment.
The location was excellent. Access was very easy. The location can't be beat - right in Mamilla and across from the Jaffa Gate.
What could be improved: The shower was a little cramped. Not necessarily a problem with the hosts, but staying for just one night made the total cost a little high with all the fees that an online booking entails.
I absolutely loved the close proximity of the room to the old city, but it is on the corner of some busy streets so it can be noisy until later at night. We were a family of 5,so i really appreciated the two bathrooms with showers.
The unit had some wear and tear, but in general it was in great condition.
We had some trouble finding the unit and get in it but the owner was quick to respond and help us get in.
What could be improved: I wish the shower had a regular shower head not only the hand held one.
Excellent location
What could be improved: But of problem entering property battery run out in lick took nearly 2 days to sort

Location & responsiveness hosts
The location is 11/10. Beds were comfortable, fold out sofa was large enough, and espresso machine was nice. parking under the Mamila shopping center was super convenient, and at 48 NIS per day an unbelievable bargain. There was enough space to hang clothes, and Lots of hot water.
What could be improved: bathroom was a little complicated, water got everywhere and it was difficult to clean up
