Shlomtzi Hotel
Your Jerusalem Stay
First Impressions
Walking up to Shlomtzi Hotel on Queen Shlomziyon Street, you immediately get the sense that this three-star property knows exactly what it’s doing. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top — instead, there’s this understated confidence that honestly made me feel more at ease than some of the fancier places I’ve stayed. The building itself has character, and you can tell they’ve put thought into maintaining it without losing that authentic Jerusalem feel.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally in the heart of everything, but it doesn’t feel chaotic. Queen Shlomziyon Street is one of those addresses that locals nod approvingly at when you mention it. You can walk to the Old City in about ten minutes (I timed it), and there’s this great little market area just around the corner that most tourists never discover. The light rail stop is close enough that you don’t need to think twice about exploring other parts of the city, which is actually pretty rare for hotels in this price range.
The Room Experience
My room was exactly what I hoped for — clean, comfortable, and with those little touches that show someone cares. The bed was genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and I appreciated that they didn’t skimp on the linens. What really impressed me was the attention to detail — good lighting for reading, enough outlets where you actually need them, and a bathroom that felt modern without being sterile. The windows open properly too, which might sound silly, but there’s something nice about getting actual fresh air instead of just recycled AC.
Daily Life at the Hotel
The staff here gets it — they’re helpful without being hovering, and they actually know the neighborhood well enough to give you real recommendations. I asked about a good place for coffee that wasn’t touristy, and the front desk guy directed me to this tiny place two blocks away that became my morning ritual. The common areas are comfortable without trying too hard, and there’s usually a quiet spot to sit if you need to catch up on emails or just decompress after walking around the city all day.
Why Guests Love It
You know what makes this place work? It’s honest about what it is. This isn’t a resort or a business hotel trying to be everything to everyone — it’s a well-run, thoughtfully maintained place that gives you exactly what you need to enjoy Jerusalem. The couples who rate it highly aren’t wrong — there’s something romantic about staying somewhere that feels authentic rather than manufactured. Plus, at this price point and with this location, you’re getting genuine value rather than just paying for a brand name. I’d definitely stay here again, and I mean that.

Guest Reviews
Location is great, everything is actually walkable from there and lots of restaurants closeby. room size is good and everything is in it what you need. The gesture with the small bottle of red wine was super nice (but unfortunately I can’t drink it…).
What could be improved: Bed was a bit „too much used“ and super soft. Walls are very thin so you will hear everything from outside (which could be very loud, as closeby are sometimes parties/ loud music).
Location superb
What could be improved: Stairs… be prepared to haul your luggage to the third floor… there is no lift!
the rooms are really lovely, spacious and clean! good sized bathroom and amenities. location is great. about 10/15 min walk to Jaffa Gate!
lots of restaurants around.
What could be improved: nothing really, there is no reception and it’s self check in out so that’s to bare in mind however we enjoyed that aspect!
Perfect location just a few minutes away from the old city. Also close to many restaurants and shops in other parts of Jerusalem. The rooms are clean and spacious
What could be improved: Nothing :)
Located within walking distance from the old city and the active center of Jerusalem.
Enjoy the complimentary wine while sitting at the table on the terrace overlooking the street.
Use the kitchen to enjoy the delicacies bought at the nearby market.
What could be improved: The bathroom is 3 stairs above the bedroom.
A tourist may need more help getting around than what offered via whatspp.
Location and cleaning
What could be improved: There is no elevator.
Comfortable , compact room and well located. Lovely touch to receive a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. Self check in and out was convenient and very easy.
What could be improved: Rooms open onto outdoor terrace and seating area which can be noisy if other guests are socialising. Outdoor furniture needs cleaning.
The location is very good and very near to mall and tourist bus pick- up.
What could be improved: There is no lift in the hotel and have to carry my luggage up to third floor.
super good location super close to the Jaffa gate, tidy and quiet
What could be improved: room is quite small
excellent location and rooms are comfortable with everything one needs! highly recommend
What could be improved: nothing
