Musrara #1
Your Jerusalem Stay
First Impressions
Walking up to Musrara #1, you immediately sense you’ve found something different in Jerusalem. This three-star boutique property sits in one of the city’s most fascinating neighborhoods — the Musrara quarter, which honestly feels like Jerusalem’s best-kept secret. The building itself has that understated charm that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a local gem rather than just another tourist hotel. There’s an intimacy here that larger hotels simply can’t match, and you get the sense that the staff actually knows each guest by name.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying in Musrara — you’re literally between two worlds. The Old City walls are just a short walk away, but you’re also steps from the vibrant cultural scene around the neighborhood’s galleries and cafes. Couples absolutely rave about this location (and I mean, they rate it a perfect 10), and I totally get why. You can stroll to the Damascus Gate in minutes, yet retreat to this quieter residential area when the tourist crowds become overwhelming. The property’s location score of 9.2 isn’t just a number — it reflects how perfectly positioned you are to experience both historic and contemporary Jerusalem.
The Rooms
The accommodations at Musrara #1 strike that perfect balance between comfort and character. You won’t find cookie-cutter hotel rooms here — each space feels thoughtfully designed with local touches that remind you exactly where you are. The rooms are well-appointed without being flashy, and honestly, that’s exactly what works in a neighborhood like this. You get modern amenities (the Wi-Fi actually works, which isn’t always a given in Jerusalem’s older buildings) while maintaining that authentic Middle Eastern atmosphere that makes staying here feel special.
The Experience
What really sets this place apart is how it connects you to Jerusalem’s cultural heartbeat. The Musrara neighborhood has this incredible artistic energy — you’ll find yourself wandering past studios and small galleries that most tourists never discover. The hotel staff seems to genuinely understand this and can point you toward experiences you won’t find in guidebooks. It’s the kind of place where you might end up having coffee with a local artist or stumbling into a small concert at a nearby cultural center.
Why Guests Love It
People return to Musrara #1 because it offers something increasingly rare in Jerusalem — an authentic neighborhood experience without sacrificing comfort or convenience. You’re staying in the top-rated area of the city, but it doesn’t feel touristy or manufactured. The combination of the intimate scale, the culturally rich location, and the genuine hospitality creates exactly what you want from a Jerusalem stay. Whether you’re exploring the ancient stones of the Old City or discovering the contemporary art scene, you’ll appreciate having this peaceful base to return to each evening.

Guest Reviews
The apartment is perfect and the location was near to the old and the new town the owner is very good guy and we didn't have any problems for sure we are coming again 😀
I really enjoyed the location and the vibe of the apartment, made me immediately feel at home. Also, I was staying during winter and was happy to find out that the air conditioning was able to heat the upper floor really well.
The beds were exceptionally comfortable, providing a restful night's sleep.
The apartment's aesthetic was impressive, with a modern design that enhanced the overall experience.
Situated in a prime location, it offered easy access to key attractions and amenities in Jerusalem.
What could be improved: Unfortunately, the bathroom had an unpleasant odor, which detracted from the overall comfort of the stay.
There was a noticeable shortage of towels and bedsheets, which was inconvenient.
The apartment was tidy and cosy, had a big television, comfortable bed, convenient kitchen and even a microwave. The location was exceptional, right next to the old city, and a walking distance from the city center.
What could be improved: The bathroom was a little small, but still useful.
The location was perfect, very close to the old city, pleasant neighbours. The air-conditioning worked very well.
The place is great. Very close to the old city.
What could be improved: The air-conditioning in room 1 was awful. There was not enough power for this volume, also the air-conditioning produced different unexpected sounds, that disturbed my dream at night. Also mold in the bathroom. And a lot of things were almost broken like the shade of the floor light on the doors of the kitchen, or frames with pictures on the wall. I wouldn't recommend it.
super central location. Walking distance to old city, grocery shops and public transportation. The apartment has a nice layout and it has everything you need for a short stay. highly recommend. Jeruslaem topography is hilly so be prepared to walk uphills.
What could be improved: none
The location is perfect. The apartment is very small but cozy and well organized. The kitchen has everything you need.
What could be improved: The apartment is a bit small for 4 adults. Especially since the bathroom is on the mezzanine. The walls are weak because you can hear your neighbors - but that's a detail.
The location is quite good, some 10 minutes to New Gate and Damascus gate.
The apartment is really small but renovated and neatly organized.
Several lovely cats that great you, if you're a cat lover, it's great.
The kitchen is equipped to cook a little, which helps keep the food budget reasonable since restaurants are very expensive.
What could be improved: The apartment is really small. In winter it is cold: there's AC/heat however it only heats the upper level (mezzanine) so people on the lower level will be very cold. There are no additional duvet/comforter.
Although the apartment fits 4 people (1 double bed + 1 sofa bed), there aren't the correct number of kitchen accessories: 4 plates but only 3 mugs, 3 glasses and only 2 sets of fork/knife/spoon. Not convenient to share a meal.
The check-in is at 15h, which is quite late (especially since many flights arrive to Israel very early in the morning) and the host isn't flexible about it at all! We had kill time in Jerusalem from 6h30 to 15h until we could check-in. Checkout is at 10h, inflexible also. 5h between check-in and check-out is really exaggerated given the apartment is so small, cleaning should take no more than 2h in the worst case. The host could make an earlier check-in and later check-out to make his guests' stay easier.
The apartment is in a no-through street but you can't park there with your rental car or you'll be fined! It would be good if the host told us but he didn't make any mention of it.
Good location
What could be improved: Was really cold on the first floor
