The Market Courtyard – Suites Hotel
Your Jerusalem Stay
First Impressions
Walking up to The Market Courtyard – Suites Hotel on Hacarmel Street, you immediately get that this isn’t your typical tourist trap. The building has this understated charm that fits perfectly with the neighborhood vibe — nothing flashy, but you can tell there’s thought behind every detail. I mean, when you’re staying in the actual heart of Jerusalem, you don’t need bells and whistles to make an impression.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about location — everyone says theirs is great, but this three-star place actually delivers on that promise. You’re literally steps away from the bustling Mahane Yehuda Market, which honestly is half the reason to stay here. The energy spills over from the market streets, and you’ll find yourself grabbing fresh bread and coffee from vendors who’ve been there for decades. Couples seem to get this particularly well — they consistently rate the location around 9.4, and I can see why. You can walk to the Old City without breaking a sweat, but you’re also in a neighborhood where actual Jerusalemites live and work.
The Suite Experience
What sets this place apart is the suite setup — each room feels more like a small apartment than a hotel space. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either; it’s actually functional if you want to prepare some of those amazing market finds. The design keeps things simple but comfortable, with enough space that you’re not tripping over your luggage every time you move around. You know what I appreciated? The windows actually open properly, and you get these glimpses of daily Jerusalem life happening right outside.
Neighborhood Rhythms
Staying here means you get to experience Jerusalem’s rhythm rather than just observe it from a distance. The market winds down in the early evening, but then the area transforms into this completely different scene with bars and restaurant spots that locals actually frequent. Thursday nights and Friday mornings are particularly special — the pre-Shabbat energy in the market is something you’ll remember long after you leave. The staff seems to understand this too; they’re not trying to create some artificial hotel bubble but rather help you tap into what’s already happening around you.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t the kind of place where you’ll spend all day lounging by a pool or getting pampered at a spa — and that’s exactly the point. People choose The Market Courtyard because they want to be part of Jerusalem rather than just visiting it. The 7.9 rating reflects what you’d expect from a solid three-star property, but the location score tells the real story. When you can walk to the Western Wall, grab dinner in the German Colony, and still come home to a quiet courtyard setting, you start to understand why couples in particular fall for this spot. It’s that sweet spot where you get authentic Jerusalem life without sacrificing comfort.

Guest Reviews
Satisfied
The location is perfect and very central and there’s a nice feel to the room.
Just next to a market. Very atmospheric.
Good price. Clean. Close to machane yehuda
What could be improved: If the room is on Agrippas st can be very noisy.
Very nice location and very nice appartment.
What could be improved: I was on the first floor, just above the market. I do not think 120 euros is right when there is no soundproofing at all. I have been up between 0.00 and 6.00 because of loud music, drunk people and street sweepers, and I do not exaggerate.
It was fine. Pillows could be upgraded/ but it was a budget price.
It served me well for one night.
What could be improved: Pillows. No plug for bath.
Nice room
What could be improved: Noisy kids on Saturday morning the room was not clean when we got there
Great location, right next to the Mechane Yehuda Market, with a good connection to the Central Station. Very nice and helpful staff. Spacious, clean, includes a kitchen annex. Beds vere comfortable. There was always a hot water. My windows faced a back alley, so it was quiet at night, with a nice view.
What could be improved: Wifi connection was poor. There is a big construction site nearby, and the noise from it starts at 7am daily.
Accessibility to 2 bus stops side by side serving 13 lines and the Mahne Yehuda Market across the street
What could be improved: Well because of my likes, they come with a little noise
Location easy check in but should not have had to pay tax 17 percent because im a Canadian tourist.
What could be improved: Tv or radio better pillows. And why was the tax not taken off I’m a Canadian tourist 😎?
