THE Y HOUSE
Your Jerusalem Stay
First Impressions
Walking up to THE Y HOUSE on Harakevet Street, you immediately get the sense that this four-star boutique hotel takes itself seriously — but not too seriously, if you know what I mean. The building has this understated elegance that feels refreshingly honest in a city where so many places try too hard to impress. I mean, with a 9.9 rating, they’re clearly doing something right, and it shows from the moment you step inside. The lobby strikes that perfect balance between modern comfort and Jerusalem’s timeless character, which honestly isn’t easy to pull off.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about Harakevet Street — it’s one of those addresses that locals nod approvingly at when you mention it. You’re genuinely well-positioned here, close enough to Jerusalem’s main attractions without being stuck in the tourist chaos. The hotel earned a perfect 10.0 for location from recent guests, and I get why. You can actually walk to the Old City without your feet screaming at you, but you’re also near the more contemporary parts of Jerusalem where real life happens. Plus, there’s something to be said for having free private parking in this city — trust me, that’s worth its weight in gold when you’re navigating Jerusalem’s streets.
The Rooms
The accommodations at THE Y HOUSE feel thoughtfully designed rather than just decorated, if that makes sense. Each room has this clean, contemporary aesthetic that somehow doesn’t clash with Jerusalem’s ancient soul. The beds are genuinely comfortable — not just hotel-marketing comfortable — and the bathrooms are spacious enough that you’re not bumping elbows with your travel companion. What I particularly appreciated was how quiet everything felt; the soundproofing actually works, which is no small feat in a bustling city like this.
Service & Atmosphere
The staff here operates with that rare combination of professionalism and warmth that you don’t encounter everywhere. They seem to genuinely care about your experience without hovering or being overly familiar. There’s this relaxed efficiency to how things run — you know, where problems get solved before you even realize they were problems. The common areas have this inviting quality that makes you want to linger with a coffee or glass of wine, especially in the evenings when the Jerusalem light does that magical thing it’s famous for.
Why Guests Love It
Couples particularly seem drawn to THE Y HOUSE, and honestly, I can see the appeal for romantic getaways. There’s something intimate about the scale and atmosphere that works perfectly for two people exploring Jerusalem together. The combination of that prime location, the genuine comfort of the rooms, and the fact that you can park your car without stress creates this perfect storm of convenience and charm. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’ve discovered something special — not a hidden secret exactly, but definitely a cut above the typical hotel experience in Jerusalem.
Jerusalem’s hotels curate heritage suites, mezze breakfasts, and scholar-led walks through hidden synagogues.

Guest Reviews

This was the nicest place our family has ever stayed. The only thing better than the gorgeous, clean, spacious facility was the time and care put in by Itai (the host). He was extremely responsive and incredibly helpful. He made our stay easy and truly wonderful! We very highly recommend the Y House!
What could be improved: We liked everything!
A beautiful and spacious villa, equipped with everything you need. Cleanliness at the highest level. Nice and welcoming host.
Perfect location. Close to all attractions.
It is highly recommended!!!
The Y House is fabulous. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Jerusalem. Beautiful, quiet neighbourhood; and there’s a quaint old tram track, cool bars and cafes nearby, lots of little nooks and corners to discover on beautiful neighbourhood walks. The villa itself is very well appointed, a beautiful mix of old and new. Spacious living, dining and kitchen areas for friends and family to gather at. The kitchen is fully equipped. The garden is gorgeous.
The icing on the cake: The very sweet young owner Itai - he’s gracious, helpful, friendly and prioritises the comfort and happiness of the guests. For example, we landed last night on a Saturday and had requested if he could keep some basic food like bread-butter-condiments. He, instead, had organised a delicious spread of dips and salads and whatnot and even a bottle of wine… and refused to let us pay for it! Unexpected and so kind! Such a memorable experience at The Y House, definitely going back again.
What could be improved: - I would have liked all en-suite bathrooms. Currently there r 6 bedrooms with 2 en-suite and 2 shared. Plus one powder room.
But I’ve seen that this is normal pretty much anywhere else, so that’s ok.
- Distance from historic sites: It’s a long-ish walk and not next door. That said, the “historic sites” area is pretty vast and spread out so even if one stayed next to one site, the rest r anyway far apart. In lieu of that, this house and neighbourhood are so perfect that a long walk to a site or getting a tour vehicle for the day is not a problem at all.
comfortable, modern, practical !
No words can describe the beauty of this home, which blended old and new using stunning design. The location was amazing, the space was large and beautiful, and the owner Itai couldn’t do enough for us. It is rare to find such a beautiful property in Jerusalem, and we will definitely return! I highly recommend this home- thank you so much Itai!
The location is ideal! walking distance from some of the most fascinating sites in Jerusalem and from some excellent restaurants.
But the real game changer here is the AMAIZING facilities in this huge villa and its amazing staff that will be their to assist in whatever request you are having.
Beautiful big house, lots of rooms and bathrooms. Owner is a nice guy.
Everything is brand new and modern, tastefully done. There was coffee, sodas water., and a bottle of wine. I wish we stayed longer. Definitely recommend this house

We stayed at an architecturally designed house for our vacation and had a fantastic time. The apartment was well-designed, clean, and tidy. The owners were also very nice and available for any questions or requests we had. We highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back soon
