Modern Home In The Heart of Nachlaot
Your Jerusalem Stay
First Impressions
Walking up to Modern Home In The Heart of Nachlaot, you immediately sense you’ve found something special in one of Jerusalem’s most authentic neighborhoods. This three-star property sits right on Ovadya Somech Street, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — there’s a reason it scored a perfect 10.0 for location. The building has that understated Jerusalem stone facade that blends seamlessly with the historic Nachlaot quarter, but step inside and you’ll find contemporary touches that make it feel fresh and welcoming.
The Nachlaot Experience
You know what makes this place really work? It’s actually in Nachlaot, not just near it. I mean, you’re literally surrounded by the narrow cobblestone streets, colorful houses, and that village-like atmosphere that makes this neighborhood so beloved by locals and visitors alike. The Mahane Yehuda Market is practically at your doorstep — maybe a three-minute walk — which means you can grab fresh bread and coffee in the morning or explore the evening bar scene without any hassle. Couples especially love wandering these streets together (they rated the location 9.5), and I can see why — there’s something romantic about getting lost in these winding alleys.
The Space Itself
The accommodations here strike that perfect balance between modern comfort and Jerusalem character. You’ll find clean lines and contemporary furnishings, but they’ve kept enough local touches to remind you where you are. The rooms feel more like a well-appointed apartment than a typical hotel room — there’s actual space to spread out and settle in. What I particularly appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being in such a central location; the stone construction really does help muffle the street sounds.
Getting Around Jerusalem
Here’s where the location really shines — you’re genuinely in the heart of everything. The Old City is an easy walk (maybe 15 minutes through some lovely neighborhoods), and you can reach the city center or catch public transport without any drama. But honestly, you might find yourself spending more time just exploring Nachlaot itself. There are these little cafes tucked into corners you’d never expect, and the whole area has this lived-in feel that’s getting harder to find in Jerusalem’s more touristy spots.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.4 rating, this place clearly gets something right, and I think it comes down to authenticity. You’re not staying in some generic hotel district — you’re actually living in one of Jerusalem’s most characterful neighborhoods for a few days. The property manages to feel both local and comfortable, which isn’t always easy to pull off. Plus, there’s something satisfying about being able to walk to the market for groceries, grab dinner at a neighborhood restaurant, and still be close enough to all the major sights that you’re not spending half your day on transportation. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing real Jerusalem life while still having a proper place to retreat to at the end of the day.
Hotel in Jerusalem reservations surge before Passover and High Holidays, so devoted travelers lock in stays months in advance.

Guest Reviews
Ori’s apartment was clean and comfortable and exactly what we needed for our family weekend in Jerusalem. We loved staying in Nachlaot , just walking distance to the shuk and a wide variety of restaurants. Ori was amazing host - responsive , helpful and kind. He was able to help with all our questions and really cared we were having a good time.
What could be improved: The only catch is parking since we came with a car, but there was a nearby parking lot.
Technical difficulties with the SmartTV while we were there, so our kids were a bit disappointed. Ending connecting through my personal Hotspot.
The host Ori is a very helpful, reliable and caring person. I did appreciate his assistance in everything.
The location was perfect with close proximity to the main market. There was ample space to relax and unwind…the host was very helpful throughout….i would definitely recommend this place for all types of travellers
Place clean, comfortable.
What could be improved: Bathroom shower doors need to be replaced, so there is no leaking.
Ori was a fantastic host - he made great restaurant recommendations and was very responsive. Cannot recommend enough! The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay, it's clean and located very conveniently near the market and the light rail.
Great location, great host.
What could be improved: The cleaning fee should appear during the booking of the apartment.
The location was perfect. In walking distance from the train station and from David Citadel Hotel (which is the starting point of many organised trips). The Yehuda market and the big variety of local restaurants around was very handy. The hints of the owner were great.
What could be improved: There wasn't such a thing.
