St Thomas Home’s Guesthouse – Jerusalem
Your Jerusalem Stay
First Impressions
Walking up to St Thomas Home’s Guesthouse – Jerusalem, you immediately get the sense that this three-star property is something special. It’s tucked away on Chaldan Street in what locals know is genuinely one of Jerusalem’s best neighborhoods — and honestly, the location score of 9.3 isn’t just marketing fluff. The building has that understated Jerusalem stone facade that blends perfectly with the historic character of the area, but there’s something welcoming about the entrance that sets it apart from the more institutional hotels you’ll find elsewhere in the city.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re actually in a residential area that feels authentically Jerusalem, not some tourist bubble. The fact that couples rate the location 9.4 makes total sense when you realize you can walk to the Old City without dealing with the chaos of staying right in the thick of things. You know what’s really nice? There’s private parking right at the hotel, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Jerusalem’s narrow streets will tell you is worth its weight in gold. The neighborhood has that perfect balance where you feel like you’re experiencing real Jerusalem life, but you’re not sacrificing accessibility to the major sites.
The Rooms
The accommodations strike that sweet spot between homey and refined — it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but everything feels thoughtfully put together. I mean, the name says “guesthouse” but don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s basic. The rooms have character without being cluttered, and there’s attention to detail that you notice in small ways throughout your stay. What really stands out is how quiet it is at night, which is actually pretty remarkable given that you’re still very much in the city.
Breakfast Experience
The breakfast setup here is honestly impressive for a three-star property. They’ve got continental options covered, but what sets them apart is the serious commitment to dietary preferences — vegetarian and vegan options aren’t just afterthoughts, they’re actually well-executed. The buffet style means you can take your time and really fuel up for a day of exploring Jerusalem’s demanding terrain. I’ve stayed at places twice the price that don’t put this much thought into their morning offerings.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something about St Thomas Home’s Guesthouse – Jerusalem that just works. Maybe it’s because it doesn’t try too hard — it’s not pretending to be upscale when it’s really about providing a genuine, comfortable base for exploring one of the world’s most intense cities. The 8.3 rating reflects what you experience: solid, reliable hospitality in a location that actually enhances your Jerusalem experience rather than just housing you. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about staying in a real neighborhood where you can grab coffee at a local café and feel like you’re living in Jerusalem rather than just visiting it.
Jerusalem’s hotels curate heritage suites, mezze breakfasts, and scholar-led walks through hidden synagogues.

Guest Reviews
Excellent location and very friendly hosts.
Everything was just fine. Delicious breakfast!
This was a nice place to stay. We liked that it included breakfast because we were there during Shabbat.
Guest house is nice and cozy, very quiet at night, staff are friendly and accommodating, safe for solo traveller except for the location and entrance is in the alley hard to find.👌
Very Good Accommodation..VG location and Quiet!
Excellent location and friendly staff
Good value for money
The location was perfect- 5 minute walk to Damascus Gate. The hotel has a very home like feel from caring staff to Fatima at the breakfast room. A chapel is on site. I had a shower late at night and also early morning- plenty of hot water.
What could be improved: I took tea for breakfast instead of instant coffee. I don’t drink instant.
The elevator is tiny- enough for me and my small case. Many hotels in Jerusalem don’t have elevators- so this was a bonus.
Nice, simple, clean place. A good location near the old city of Jerusalem and transportation routes. Kind and polite crew.
Great location, very close Damascus Gate and Rail Laight Train. Quiet and paceful place, nice Chapel inside. And super view from the rooftop👌
Very, very nice service-I could have has an earlier breakfast(and it was always testy and local dishes).
The price of accomodation with breakfast is great!
What could be improved: Location, service.
Everything was ok
